The only surviving photograph of my art school days is this fuzzy picture taken on the fire escape of the old Luton School of Arts around 1943. I'm in the front because it was my camera! In the back and in the middle is John Plumb, who went on to become a well known British artist. John and I started classes together, became great friends, then lost touch until the 1980s. Tragically, John suffers from Macular Degeneration and is now totally blind. We regularly exchange e-mails and would dearly love to know what happened to all the people on that fire-escape. If any of you are still alive and recognize this photograph, please contact me.
